Your Guide

Your host for the tours is Dan Pence, who spent over 35 years managing natural resources with the U.S. Forest Service. His interest in Lewis and Clark began with stories his grandmother told about how her grandfather helped bury Jean Baptiste “Pomp” Charbonneau (Sacagawea’s son, born on the expedition).

Dan has a knack for bringing history to life. Hear colorful stories and interesting facts about the expedition and those who followed including mountain men, miners, ranchers, stage coach drivers, and the people who settled the west.
